Title:	What are the degrees of freedom in the partonic fluid at RHIC ?
Abstract:	The evidence for deconfinement at RHIC is overwhelming, whereas there is a distinct lack of chiral symmetry restoration results. The question arises whether the degrees of freedom above the critical temperature still break chiral symmetry although the deconfinement transition has occurred. In other words are there strongly coupled partonic states which are different from the anticipated degrees of freedom in an ideal Quark Gluon Plasma ? I will show experimental evidence from RHIC that the initial state of matter at RHIC might be different from the conditions at FAIR and the LHC.
