Title:	Energy Dependence of High-pT Hadron Suppression
Abstract:	The suppression of high-pT hadrons observed at RHIC in central Cu+Cu and Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV is most naturally explained by jet-quenching models which attribute the suppression to parton energy loss in a quark-gluon plasma (QGP). A detailed understanding of this phenomenon requires the study of its dependence on the center-of-mass energy. Basic properties of the medium like the initial gluon density or the lifetime are expected to change with center-of-mass energy. The PHENIX measurements of identified hadrons at high pT in Cu+Cu collisions at 22, 62, and 200 GeV and Au+Au collisions at 62 and 200 GeV thus provide a critical test for jet-quenching models.
