Title:	Critical isoscalar fluctuations as a signature of the QCD critical point
Abstract:	Power-law correlated pairs of positive and negative charged pions with invariant mass close to the two pion threshold are shown to be a clear signature for the approach to the QCD critical point in nuclear collisions through the formation of an isoscalar condensate. A preliminary analysis of NA49 A+A data at maximum SPS energy indicates the presence of such unconventional correlations in the Si+Si system.
