Title:	X-ray measurements with the SPARC-EBIT
Abstract:	The SPARC-EBIT is an Electron Beam Ion Trap built by the DREEBIT company (Dresden) that will be used for tests and offline measurements of SPARC (Stored Particle Atomic physics Research Collaboration) components and experiments like HITRAP. For characterizing the EBIT x-ray and time-of-flight spectra (TOF) were recorded. Also a Multi-Passage Spectrometer (MPS) was used as a charge state separator. Measurements for different kinds of externally injected gases, such as Ar, Kr and Xe have been done. For the x-ray detection a Silicon-pin diode was installed, which has a resolution of about 260eV at ~10keV. In order to fully characterize the new EBIT, experiments were performed with different confinement-times, cathode currents and different gas pressures. In addition charge breeding experiments with external injected, single charged potassium-ions have been performed. Also an electronic setup for time-dependent x-ray spectroscopy has been installed and tested. First results will be presented on the poster.
