Title:	Pilot expeiment on quasifree scattering in inverse kinematics
Abstract:	An important part of the future physics program at the LAND facility at GSI will be based on the study of a kinematical complete measurements of proton-induced reactions. These are in particular the quasi-free scattering processes of the type (p,2p), (p,pn), (p,pa) etc to study the single-particle and cluster structure of neutron-proton asymmetric nuclei, the role of nucleon-nucleon correlations in nuclei as a function of isospin, binding energy, and density, as well as the in-medium effects on the nucleon-nucleon interaction. A prototype setup for detecting the high-energy protons in (p,2p) reactions in coincidence with forward emitted light particles and heavy fragments has been developed and integrated into the LAND reaction setup within the RHIB Joint Research Activity. The detection scheme is based on an array of Si micro-strip detectors plus NaI detectors. First results from pilot experiments on quasi-free scattering in inverse kinematics at beam energies around 500 MeV/u will be presented.
