Title:	Miniature explosive generator for proton radiographic investigation of the phase transition in liquid nitrogen.
Abstract:	Pressure generator, composed of two plate explosive launchers with high explosive (HE) charge, equivalent to 100 g of trinitrotoluene (TNT), was elaborated for the purpose of future investigation of phase transformation in compressed liquid nitrogen during dynamic loading. Simultaneous head-on plane impact of two accelerated steel plates with bottoms of cylindrical steel container, filled with liquid nitrogen, was chosen. Hydrodynamic simulation of two experimental devices with steel plate velocity 2.43 km/s and various (without and with PMMA intermediate layer) design showed, that maximal compression parameters (pressure, density and temperature) would be following: 150GPa, 3.63g/cc, 3900K and 145GPa, 3.55g/cc, 2500K. The time of existence of maximal parameters would be about 200 ns in both cases; by second device it's possible to reach the theoretically predicted phase transition with drop in volume of about 20%. It was experimentally checked that developed setup allows to compress liquid nitrogen up to 150 GPa and avoid debris cloud expansion in the proton beamline direction. The work was done under State contract 4е.45.03.10.1016.
