Title:	Heating of a porous matter plane layer under X-ray irradiation
Abstract:	In future experiments with the PHELIX facility it is planned to study the ion beam deceleration in plasma. The plasma is produced in a indirect heating of low-temperature polymer TAC foam of the density r=0.001-0.01 g/cm3 under the X-ray radiation earlier transformed from the laser radiation. Plasma formation in a plane polymer TAC foam layer (the density, 2mg/cm3; the thickness, 800 μm) under the action of an external soft X-ray source at the PHELIX experimental conditions is theoretically investigated. The incident beam is expected to have the Planck distribution over the spectrum with Trad=20-40 eV. The X-ray flux incident onto the plasma has been varied in the numerical simulations, as well as the optical spectral constants of the target matter. Under the action of an external soft X-ray source on a low-density foam matter (the density 2 mg/cc) there is produced the plasma with a relatively uniform spatial density and temperature profiles Т=15-35 eV. The absorption of the external radiation energy has a volumetric character. The plasma temperature grows with the growth of the external source energy, but the energy coming through the plasma also increases. The results turn to be sensitive to the optical constant values used in numerical modeling. One of the criteria could be used for testing the optical constants in the simulations is the spectral flux of the incident external radiation passing through the plasma.
