Title:	Relative energy shifts of hydrogen-like carbon bound states in dense matter
Abstract:	The aim of the present work is the further development of the thermodynamics of hydrogen-like plasmas with densities of the order of $10^{27}-10^{29}$ m$^{-3}$ at temperatures of $10^6-10^8$~K. Therefore, the Jacobi-Pad'e approximation for the so-called relative energy level shifts is applied to a quasineutral plasma consisting of sixfold ionized carbon atoms and electrons. The relative energy level shift is determined by the difference between Coulomb and Debye potential, and by the kinetic energy of the particles. The shift caused by the kinetic energy (KES) has to be found considering the momentum space of the particles, so that 7-fold integrals in phase space have to be calculated. Quantum-physically, the according former numerical calculations of the KES (Ebeling et al., Thermophysical properties of hot dense plasmas, Teubner 1991) were only performed for particle states with zero angular quantum numbers. In the present work a detailed, to a large extend analytical, analysis of the KES is given for any angular quantum number, enabling also an improved analysis of future further-developed Jacobi-Pad'e formulae. Line shifts of the bound states of the sixfold ionized carbon plasma are numerically obtained as function of the Mott parameter of the system.
