Title:	Muonic hydrogen spectroscopy and the proton radius puzzle
Abstract:	We have recently determined the Lamb shift (2S-2P energy difference) in the muonic hydrogen atom via pulsed laser spectroscopy at 6.0 and 5.5 micron wavelength. The value of the proton charge radius we obtain is 4% smaller than the CODATA-2010 value. This is a 7 sigma discrepancy. Many attempts have been made to explain the proton radius puzzle - so far with no conclusive results. The main lines of argument will be presented.
