Title:	Angle correlation studies of radiative cascades following dielectronic recombination of highly-charged ions: multipole-mixing effects
Abstract:	Dielectronic recombination (DR) of heavy, highly charged ions has been studied intensively during the last decades, both in experiment and in theory. Apart from the total rates, angular properties of DR (hyper-) satellite photons have also attracted much attention. These angular-resolved studies have revealed unique knowledge about relativistic, many-body and QED effects on the structure and dynamics of highly charged ions. For example, the mixing effects between the various multipoles of the radiation field have been recently identified by analyzing the angular pattern of the Kα HS photons emitted in course of K-LL DR of initially hydrogen-like uranium ions. In contrast to individual HS or S transitions, multipole-mixing phenomena have not yet been investi- gated for the photon angular correlations, that may be observed if stabilization of the excited ionic states proceeds via radiative cascades. In this contribution we present a theoretical study of the angular correlation functions in DR of highly charged ions based on the density matrix approach and relativistic Dirac¿s theory. Within this framework we pay special attention to the effects that arise from the higher non-dipole terms in expansion of electron-photon interaction. To illustrate these effects detailed calculations will be presented and discussed for K-LL of xenon, gold and uranium ions.
