Title:	Large rates of level excitations in Xe IX by electron impact as an origin for high efficient tabletop x-ray laser at 41.8 nm pumped by optical field ionization in a cluster jet.
Abstract:	Precision atomic-kinetic calculations of gain on the transition 5d -5p (0-1) at 41.81 nm in Pd-like xenon are performed. The detailed interpretation of the known experiments has proved that an efficient x-ray laser in Pd-like xenon is possible in the extremely wide range (more than two orders)of atom density. It is due to the large cross section (and rates) of level excitations in Xe IX by electron impact. We propose high efficient tabletop x-ray laser pumped by optical field ionization in a cluster jet. The efficiency ~0.5% is possible with pumping laser energy more than 0.001 J. We discuss the optimal pump parameters of plasma in cluster jet.
