Title:	Time resolved and high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy: a unique tool to study clusters and atoms in strong field
Abstract:	In this small review, we will present some recent experiments concerning the interaction of gaseous clusters and atoms in presence of a strong external field with the use of time-resolved and high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy. By exploiting the specific properties of cluster dynamics under the three types of projectiles, i.e. electrons, intense femtosecond photon pulses and slow highly charged ions, we access to the temporal structure of the cluster bunch which give rise to a direct experimental measurement of the clustering rate. Such studies where possible with a recent applied time-resolved X-ray spectroscopy with time-stamp techniques. Complementary, high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy allows for studying the fast dynamics of collisions via the analysis of the projectile or target excited state population and/or charge state. In addition to the case of cluster-laser interaction [1], high- resolution X-ray spectroscopy was used to characterize the interaction between slow highly charged ions and atoms. In particular we could investigate the single-electron capture cross sections on the different n  atomic sublevels and the influence of the multi-electron capture in single collision conditions [2].
