Title:	Parity nonconservation effect in dielectronic recombination with heavy hydrogenlike ions
Abstract:	Measurements of parity nonconservation (PNC) effects with heavy few-electron ions can provide new opportunities for tests of the Standard Model. The PNC effects in highly charged ions were first discussed by Gorshkov and Labzowsky. Later, many authors exploited the near-degeneracy of the opposite parity 21S0 and 23P0 states in He-like ions at Z ~ 64 and Z ~ 90, where the PNC effect is strongly enhanced. In the present paper, the PNC effect on the dielectronic recombination (DR) with heavy hydrogenlike Gd (Z = 64) and Th (Z = 90) is evaluated. We study a scenario in which a polarized electron is captured by a hydrogenlike ion into a doubly excited state of the heliumlike ion, which subsequently decays into 21S0 or 23P0 state. As the intermediate doubly excited states we have considered the (2p1/2 2p3/2)1, (2s1/2 2p3/2)1, (2s1/2 3p3/2)1, and (2p1/2 3p3/2)1 states, which seem most promising for observing the PNC effect in the DR processes. This is due to the fact that one can choose the magnetic dipole transition which is additionally suppressed by a factor 1/Z as the main decay channel, while the PNC-mixing channel is the electric dipole transition.
