Title:	Modified relativistic binary encounter Bethe model for electron-impact ionization
Abstract:	A new expression for the total ionization cross section by electron impact based on the relativistic extension of the binary encounter Bethe (RBEB) model, valid from ionization threshold up to relativistic energies, is proposed. The new model (MRBEB) is used to calculate K-shell ionization cross sections by electron impact for carbon, neon, silicon, scandium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, iron, zinc, cobalt, strontium and silver atoms. Comparisons with all available experimental data to our knowledge show good agreement with our calculations, as good as other models, with less complexity.
