SlusarczykLukaszDetection of muons in CBM. A study of trigger filter and background algorithms. The Compressed Baryonic Matter experiment (CBM) at GSI Darmstadt will be performed with high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions and will address fundamental issues of high density QCD. One of them will be the deconfinement, studied through the measurement of J/Psi production which, in turn, will be detected in its leptonic decay channels J/Psi->2e and J/Psi->2mu. The Warsaw group of the CBM collaboration studies the feasibility of J/Psi identification in the CBM experiment via the 2-muon decay. Because of the expected extremely low charmonium multiplicity (1.9*10^{-5} per central event), the main problem is the rejection of background muons produced by in-flight pion decays. Filters and algorithms that can be applied at various trigger levels are studied. Detector resolutions and the geometry of CBM-experiment required for efficient background rejection are specified.
VassilievIouriAnalysis of D^{0} and D^{+} mesons detection in Au+Au collisions at 25 AGeVThe presentation studies feasibility of the exclusive reconstruction of D^{0} and D^{+} mesons in the hadronic decay channels. D-mesons detection strategy is discussed. High resolution secondary 2 and 3 tracks vertex determination realized by using MAPS detectors.
VesztergombiGyorgySearch for jet quenching below 20 GeV cm energiesDavid D'Enterria has re-examined the pp reference data used to measure the hadron production at the SPS, and concludes that its uncertainties were previously underestimated and the signs of jet quenching indeed also be present at the SPS. In view of this fact one can ask whether the real jet quenching threshold is given in the SPS range or one should go down to FAIR. The complamentarity of CBM pp measurements to SPS PbPb will be discussed in the 20-90 GeV beam energy range.
