Abstract

Abel, NorbertDesign and Implementation of the Read Out Controller
In our current set-up the FEE (Front End Electronic) consists of the nXYTER, an ADC (Analog Digital Converter) and an ROC (Read Out Controller). The nXYTER is recieving analogue data directly from the sensors and detects the value and the exact time of a signal peak. It provides the time stamp digitally and an analog peak value. For further processing the analog data has to be converted by an ADC into digital data. Since the conversion needs time, the data needs to be resynchronized after sampling. This data resynchronisation, the transfer of the measured data and the controlling of the functional behavior of the nXYTER and the ADC will be discussed in our contribution.

Akishina, TatianaOn e/pi identification: comparison of TRD prototype measurements with GEANT simulations at p=1.5 GeV/c
We compare the distributions of e/pi energy losses in the TRD prototype and GEANT simulations of the n-layered TRD realized in frames of the CBM ROOT at p=1.5 GeV/c. It is shown that the GEANT simulations quite well reproduce real measurements for both pions and electrons. However, contrary to the real measurements, we failed to obtain a comparable level of pion's suppression for the most powerful method based on the likelihood functions ratio test. A detailed analysis of GEANT data permitted one to understand the reason of such a behaviour and to reproduce results of real measurements.

Bertini, DenisiFluka: a C++ interface between Fluka and FairRoot for radiation level studies in CBM
iFluka is a non intrusive C++ interface to Fluka. It intecepts within the Fluka event loop the call to the user defined fortran routines and forward it to the correponding C++ functions. The user can then benefits from all services delivered by the FairRoot framework i.e generators, field map definition, event by event storage using the FairRoot output structure.

Fernandez Morales, Miguel AngelTransient Dielectric effects on RPC dynamics
The role of the resistive plate as a dielectric, not only as a resistive part, in the RPC is a very important point to be considered on the search of a better high rate tRPCs. We focuse in the transient states of the RPC to design a MC with the dielectrics dynamics in mind. This model can achieve a good agreement with the data that we had already taken on the transient states of ordinary float glass used in the Hades RPCs under a varying irradiation.

Ivanov, VictorHow to increase the W(k,n) criterion power in the e/pi identification problem
We propose a scheme that permits to significantly increase the power of the W(k,n) criterion in the e/pi identification problem. The comparison with other methods is presented.

Ivashkin, AlexanderDevelopment of PSD supermodule

Karabowicz, RadoslawSTS layout studies
Update on STS layout studies. Results for double sided strip detectors will be shown and compared with the first attempts of implementing single-sided micro-strip silicon detectors. Initial results showing effect of the more realistic detector response, with hit sharing and clustering, will be presented. The last point should be results of the radiation studies.

Kasinski, KrzysztofThe latest n-Xyter test results
We present the most recent n-Xyter test results obtained using Sucima Imager Board equipped with two n-Xyter chips. One of the ASICs was connected to 75 um pitch 1 cm silicon strip detector. The results presented include time-stamp resolution measurements, comparator threshold voltage uniformity and offset correction. Preliminary results for Sr-90 source are also presented.
