Title:	Ion acceleration in intense laser fields
Abstract:	An overview on ion acceleration in laser fields with relativistic intensities will be given. The mechanism of ponderomotive acceleration will be emphasized especially. A proposed fast ignition scenario making use of in-situ deuteron acceleration in the precompressed target shell driven by an intense laser pulse will be described.
