This page is intended to keep some basic documentation about the AliRoot installation at GSI:

How to use standard installation

1. Login to the one of the lxi machine

2. Change (if necessary) shell to tcsh or csh
And source the environment variables

    tcsh
    source ~alice/.alice AliceV305Opti
    for Alice release 3.05 optimisation version
    or
    source ~alice/.alice AliceV305Debug
    for Alice release 3.05 - debug version

3. Use it.
