INSTALLATION

		DEC OSF/1 X2.0-8 (Rev. 155) for MIPS

			July, 1992

How to create DEC OSF/1 X2.0-8 installtion tapes:

	 1. Insert your first tape in your tape drive

	 2. Locate you OSF/1 distribution directory and enter
	    directory "BL8_0Install"

	 3. Run command "sh write_tape.sh". This script will
assume your SCSI tape drive is "/dev/nrmt0h", so
you will have to modify the script if you want to
	    use another tape device.

	 4. Label this tape "DEC OSF/1 V2.0 Boot Volume". You
will have to wait for the copying to finish befo-
re removing the tape from the tape drive.

	 5. Repeat step 1 to 3 but choose your next tapes and
run the scripts from all the subdirectories. When
all this is ready you will have four installation
	    tapes.

Note! If you are not interested in the DEC OSF/1's
realtime OS system components, you can skip the last
	 tape.

	 6. Label the second tape:

"DEC OSF/1 V2.0 Operating System Software Volume 1"

	 7. Label the third tape:

"DEC OSF/1 V2.0 Operating System Software Volume 2"

	 8. Label the fourth tape:

	  "DEC OSF/1 V2.0 Realtime Options"
